Buy an off the shelf screen protector for your tablet. This solution is stupid simple, massively cost effective, and removes a whole lot of long term issues from the cars. Step five: BUILD A APP THAT INTERFACES WITH CAR!!!! The app can do whatever they want to allow. They are almost always backward compatible and adapters are cheap.
Step four: Include the fastest, at time of manufacture, data interface, i.e. They can pick from a number of typical sizes. Step three: Design the seating and dash to incorporate those functions around a dedicated TABLET/PHONE mounting location. Step two: Setup a good old fashion RADIO/SAT RADIO system that within proper cost parameters will sound good in the vehicle.
